The Association works collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify, develop and sustain mountain bike experiences in Western Australia. It also acts as a resource for clubs looking for help on trail advocacy and grants, and co-ordinates the racing calendar.

WAMBA has evolved from a trail building and advocacy group with a heavy focus on the Kalamunda Mountain Bike Network, to a State Sporting Association representing the interests of all mountain bikers in WA. The 3-year strategy for 2015-2017 is well underway, and is supported by key partnerships with WestCycle, the Department of Sport and Recreation, and the Department of Parks and Wildlife.
