Mt Buller will host the second Australian MTB Summit on 7-8 December 2015, offering another two-day program featuring national and international guests covering a new range of topics that will be critical to those active or looking to become more involved in mountain biking.

The Summit will unite speakers and delegates from around Australia - supported by a strong international contingent - providing a platform for those involved in the mountain bike industry to discuss topics relevant to the local landscape.

Following on from the success of the inaugural Australian MTB Summit in 2014, the coming event is expected to again attract a high calibre of participants and true opinion leaders who will be key in driving ongoing mountain bike growth and development across Australia in years to come.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • MTB evolution: Fat bikes, e-bikes and changing wheel sizes - fads or the future?
  • Rotorua - building a world-class MTB destination
  • How to secure funds for new MTB developments
  • Advocacy leadership
  • Marketing to mountain bikers
  • Emerging trail developments
  • Professional trail building standards and certification
  • What's going down in the gravity space
  • Breaking the cycle - the story of mountain bike expedition
  • Great trails 101
  • What does the future hold for MTB events in Australia?
  • Building MTB trails on a limited budget
  • Regional collaboration for optimal outcomes
  • Building public and private partnerships in the MTB sector

The two-day Summit program features a range of Australian and international industry experts, including Scot Nicol, founder of Ibis Cycles (USA) and Dave Donaldson, Deputy Mayor at Rotorua Lakes Council (NZ). Speakers will deliver a range of keynote addresses and interactive workshops, enabling you to hear from the specialists, share ideas and ask questions in a collaborative environment. There will also be plenty of time for networking, socialising and, most importantly, riding bikes.

In fact, Mt Buller will officially open its bike trails for the 2015/16 season on 5-6 December - just prior to the Summit - which will be supported by a range of social rides, a film festival and more, giving you the perfect excuse to get to the mountain early and hit Mt Buller's world-class trails!

With limited capacity, it's essential that you register for the Summit sooner rather than later! Furthermore, if you register for the event by 16 October 2015, you can take advantage of a special early bird offer - a 10% discount on the registration price. So what are you waiting for?
